Christmas Eve Pond Skate
December 24, 2006The weather in Dalian has been absolutely splendid the past few days, which made it ideal for Magnus and I to head up to our local pond to go for a quick skate. Our pond is only about 10 minutes away from our house which makes it perfect for the odd hockey game, curling match or leisurely skate with the family - it is our little piece of Canadian wintertime heaven. Now, really, since it is only us Canadians who do this type of activity here it always creates quite the buzz with the Chinese who are walking about. They definitely do not comprehend why we do this and insist on standing around for hours just watching us. Anyways, Magnus and I went out and met up with Blake Defieux and skated around for awhile today. At first we both skated around and then Magnus just wanted to run around on the ice and chase the different colored balls - a great time was had by all and I hope to do it all again tomorrow after we open up Santa’s gifts!

Merry Christmas, Love the Blog, will be spending Boxing Day with your mom and dad in Pendticton. Hope you and your family have a wonderful Holiday Season. Tom and Tish

Well it beats the other Christmas tradition I engage in today .. a father dragging around his son for last minute shopping. Ansheng Mall is quite lovely this time of year particularly the peaceful serenity of the playground area.

I’m in a comment giving mood.
“Tiss the season to be merry.”
“That’s My Name.”
“No shit.”

Awesome! Mich and I are totally missing that part of KaiFaQu life. Though as we were reminiscing about it, we were riding up the chairlift for a few good turns at Purden Ski Village; a long time Christmas tradition for me!
