No need to worry
September 20, 2006This is a picture of the road just out in front of our housing complex at Song Hai Li. For the past couple of months, they (people) have been using dynamite on an almost daily occurance to build a train tunnel below our homes. Some bombings scare the crap out of us, others just shimmer and become a part of our daily routine. But the other day, the entire road out front collapsed due to all this work, and when you look at the size of the hole created, it just makes you think, and worry a little, about the workmanship of chinese contstruction. “No need to worry people, everything is just fine!”

Nice! “Never a dull moment” as Sara always used to say. That’s life on the catacombs for ya!

When we queried the workmen (well when Alice did) they said it was because of water erosion in some pipes that had broken. No relationship to the dynamiting. Honest! Really folks .. nothing to see here … move along.
